The BMW 5 Series. Defining the benchmark.
5 Series Sedan
Freedom begins as a mind-set and continues in the driver's seat seat of the BMW 5 Series Sedan. With a simple tap of the accelerator, you can leave all your cares behind and get away from it all. Completely remodelled, we managed to keep the best of its predecessor while adding the latest in BMW technological innovations. Active Steering, Dynamic Drive, an aluminum suspension, and the introduction of the 360 hp V8 engine with Valvetronic® are but a few of the additions. The result, a new benchmark in performance and handling that may prompt the competition to give up the chase.

5 Series Gran Turismo
Automobiles are multi-faceted. A luxurious and prestigious sedan radiates style. A Coupé on the other hand, stands for dynamics and athletic elegance, with its characteristic roof line and frameless doors. And a modern SUV with slightly elevated seats exudes presence and authority. The BMW 5 Series Gran Turismo represents the fusion of all aspects into a vehicle with an independent and unmistakable character.

Available safety features on BMW 5 Series
Safer nighttime driving. BMW Night Vision with Pedestrian Detection, part of BMW ConnectedDrive, can see in the dark and warns the driver of any approaching danger that is located outside of the range of the headlights.
An infrared camera positioned behind the kidney grille reveals objects up to 300 metres ahead of the vehicle. Pedestrians and cyclists are identified and highlighted on the Control Display. Three processors simultaneously calculate all movements outside of the vehicle and the course of the BMW 5 Series Sedan. Should the system detect any danger of a collision, the driver receives a warning on the Control Display or on the Head-Up Display in the form of an icon that shows the position of the person outside of the vehicle.

One second and 28 metres. This is how long it takes to take your eyes off the road and read 100 km/h on the speedometer. Head-Up Display projects your current speed into your direct field of vision on the windshield. And the BMW ConnectedDrive technology can do even more.
High Guiding and Lane Guiding are the names of the functions that make navigating in cities and on unclear road layouts simple. The display is projected onto the windscreen in the driver's direct field of vision.
Warning notices from the assistant systems are also always displayed such as Lane Change and Lane Departure Warning, pedestrian recognition from BMW Night Vision as well as the possibility of running into the back of the vehicle in front. See the most important things first.

A clear view in clear situations: up to five cameras give the BMW 5 Series Sedan a clear view of any situation.
Two front-end Side View cameras are integrated in the front bumper, one on the left and one on the right. Both images are displayed in the Control Display to give you a clear view when carrying out parking manoeuvres.
The Rear View camera also provides welcome support when parking. Interactive lane lines in the image inform the driver whether or not the parking space is large enough. The zoom function allows you to adjust the image so that you can attach a trailer to the tow bar without the need for further assistance.
The Top View cameras in the sideview mirrors complete the camera package. Together with the data from the Rear View camera, the system generates a bird's eye image of the BMW 5 Series Sedan and its current location. Whether you are entering or leaving a parking space, carrying out every manoeuvre is simple and safe.
